Take action Now

laterI have been the biggest procrastinator going, without doubt.

I almost enjoyed telling others how I loved to talk about what I wanted, but never actually did anything about it.

Secretly, I was overwhelmed with guilt and a total lack of respect or faith in myself.

I questioned myself, what was holding me back? What was it that was basically causing me to imprison myself?

I am still attempting to figure those questions out.

One simple thing I have learned though is that action, even small steps regularly, have the power to change everything.

I transitioned from a place where hopelessness flourished to a place where optimism sprung forth.

That big step  I felt unable to make was surprisingly replaced with many tiny steps in the direction  of my dreams.

The hope, enthusiasm, energy and determination dripped in slowly.

tortoise and hareProcrastination can absolutely strip someone of their self worth whilst unmet needs  and dreams lie scattered all around.

Anyone bound by the confines of Procrastination and an inability to move towards their aspirations, take one small step today.

Ask yourself, what is it you truly want in life?

If you had all the money in the world, what would you choose to spend your time doing, there lies an important discovery.

Make the decision to take at least one step, however small, towards achieving your goals today.

After all, according to the fable, it was the Tortoise who won the race, he kept going throughout.

The art of gratitude

gratitudeBeing grateful is truly an art and is a honed skill.

What does being grateful truly mean to you, to each one of us?

In my mind being grateful is when, at that time, you are immersed in an absolute state of appreciation.

Truly, we can all be guilty of taking things for granted.

It is only when we are presented with a crisis, health situation or suchlike, that it suddenly dawns on us that what we have, is truly a great deal.

Do we even ponder on what it actually takes for our bodies to run smoothly, every day?

gratitude 4Having a grateful heart and mind absolutely shifts our mindset from one of lack, to one of plenty.

Instead of seeing what we don’t have, whether it is the latest gadget or job, we see all the true abundance that surrounds us.

Starting our days listing all the seemingly small, though in fact great, things we have, creates the prism through which we see that day.

This gift of life is  exactly that, a gift.We are lucky to partake in this life where we have ultimate choice to do as we see fit.

Be grateful for the very breath that supplies all of your organs with the fuel to keep you going.

Life is not there to be taken for granted.

Healthy early morning practices.

early morning imageI love my sleep and we all can agree that sleep is vital in maintaining optimum health.

For those of us working 9-5, trying to fit in family, commitments etc, optimizing our time is paramount.

I have come to the realization that really, even if you can fit in a little of what you want to do everyday, it counts.

It is said that, it is not what you do once in a while that counts, but what you do, day in, day out.

early morning practice 2So carving out 20-30mins in the morning can reap the rewards.

We need to look at what we need, which activities enhance our well being?

We must look at our physical aspect, our mental aspect and focus also upon reducing stress levels.

Upon wakening you could either do 5-10 minutes of yoga, stretching or rebounding.Dancing would work too.

Next, you could focus upon goals for the day, which then lead to goals for realizing your ideal life.

A positive state of mind creates a positive focused person who radiates energy and enthusiasm.

Listening to affirmations, doing some visualization can have an immeasurable positive impact upon your day.

Louise Hay encourages people to take a hand mirror and look into their own eyes and affirm ‘ I love and approve of myself.  Everything I need comes to me.All is well’

What a beautiful and empowering statement.

Through encouraging a healthy self image, we can face the world smiling and be true to who we are.

Self love and love to others is crucial in being the best version of yourself.

early morning practice 3Those are a few tips and ones which I am currently implementing in my own life.

I can say, without question, the days spent taking time to do these practices are great days. I notice their impact upon my life.

Thoughts for the Day, Week, Month and Year.

This is a post dedicated to making you think, to reflect.  Beautiful quotes to induce beautiful thoughts.

happiness 3The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind’

Quote by William James

Instead of seeing the rug being pulled from under us, we can learn to dance on the shifting carpet

Quote by Thomas Crum

Life is what it is, you cannot change it, but you can change yourself.

Quote by Hazrat Inayat Khan

Rather light a candle than complain about the darkness.’

Quote from Chinese proverb

happiness 4Everything that happens to you is your teacher.  The secret is to learn to sit at the feet of your own life and be taught by it.  Everything that happens is either a blessing which is also a lesson, or a lesson which is also a blessing.’

Quote from Polly Berrien Berends

The secret of happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one has to do.

Quote from James Barrie

‘Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment’

Quote from Jalal-uddin Rumi

People are like stained-glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within’.

Quote from Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

‘It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult’.

Quote from Seneca.

When your greatest challenge is yourself

man_in_the_mirror___cas_tiel_by_fuileachd-d3hi98gIt struck me today, not for the first time, but perhaps harder than usual, that truly my greatest challenge is myself.

Am I alone in this, or is this common?

I strive to be positive yet find myself getting agitated at the car in front who won’t go when the green light goes on the traffic lights.

I get stung at any criticism and revert back to defensive mode.

My partner, who might I add has a superb attitude in most, if not all things, often times helps me to re-frame my situation.

It is exactly that, how I have chosen to perceive the situation. Whether that was carved from any number of factors in my childhood or whether it is reliant somewhat upon what genetic makeup I carry.  The end result is that I have to learn how to re-frame my perceptions.

Now, I am not being negative nor down upon myself, feeling low about my abilities in fact has no doubt contributed to my current situation.

I am choosing to see this as hopefully a turning point.

I am sure we all carry our own struggles. If we look closer within we may see elements which we run from or disengage from.

Those situations that keep coming back and back, in perhaps different forms, are there, not as punishment but actually as lessons.

Theoretically it is always easier to accept, to understand.  I hope I am not alone in feeling that it is the actual practical demonstration of the desired behaviour which is the major challenge.

This life is truly a journey and we each lead our own unique lives.

One thing I can say definitively is this, we need to be gentle with ourselves.  Yes, we need to grow but we also require nourishment. We all have unique talents and abilities.

Recognize your own talents and use them.If you do that, you are leading the best life possible for you.

I have to learn to accept it is ok to be me.  I don’t need to compare, only enjoy and appreciate my uniqueness.Embrace my own precious life. Embrace your unique and special lives.

What they won’t tell you: The sun is a full-spectrum medicine that can heal cancer

(NaturalNews) “Those that have attempted to convince the world that the Sun, the Earth’s primary source of energy and life causes cancer, have done so with malicious intent to deceive the masses into retreating from the one thing that can prevent disease.” — Dave Mihalovic, Naturopathic Doctor
and writer. [1]

Truth is, we’ve been systematically lied to about the sun and skin cancer for years. This video presentation explains fully. How many know that there is no definitive proof that the sun alone causes skin cancer? [2]

Can the sun cure cancer?

In the book The Healing Sun, author Dr. Richard Hobday documents a wide array of studies which show that the sun protects against cancer of the breast, colon, ovaries and prostate. It can also prevent diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart disease and high blood pressure, osteoporosis, psoriasis and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). [3]

Then there’s the case of Dr. Harland G. Call, who was diagnosed with skin cancer and was advised by a surgeon to have it removed. Instead, he decided to sunbath the cancerous area.

After a short period of continuous sunbathing, the skin cancer was completely gone. He returned to his MD for a confirmation, and his doctor confirmed that the skin cancer had disappeared and no surgery was required. [3]

According to Dr. Bernarr Zovluck, “Cancer is helped by sunbathing, writes Dr. Zane R. Kime. Kime writes
that those who get more sunlight have less cancer. Sunbathing heals
cancer by building up the immune system and increasing the oxygen in the
tissues.” [4]

Still, we’re bombarded almost daily with dire “warnings” from reputable “authorities” admonishing us, for our own good of course, to avoid the sun at all costs.

Epidemic levels of sun phobia

For example, Dr. Robin Ashinoff, chief of dermatological and cosmetic surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center advised: “Wearing sunscreen and then deliberately going out in the sun is almost as [bad] as going out with no sunscreen at all.”

She continued, “You don’t get burned, but the UV rays are still getting into your skin. Sunscreen is important, but you should also wear the right clothing and shield yourself as much as possible from direct sun exposure.” [5]

Is Dr. Ashinoff advocating a vampire lifestyle? The reality is that the vast majority of people, including doctors, have been duped into believing the myth that the sun is toxic, carcinogenic and a deadly health hazard.

That’s why most people slavishly and lavishly slather toxic sunscreens on their skin whenever they anticipate direct contact with the sun’s rays. But in fact, most conventional sunscreens are cancer-causing biohazards. [6] [7]

Meanwhile, the multi-billion-dollar cancer industry and the billion-dollar toxic sunscreen industry are making hay with this hoax. True believers are left scratching their heads in bewilderment as statistics reveal that the dreaded malignant melanoma skin cancer is on the rise. [8]

The sun doctor

Dr. Auguste Rollier opened the first European “Sun Clinic” in 1903 at Leysin, Switzerland. He also wrote a very influential book: Heliotherapy. He was considered the most famous heliotherapist in the world.

At his peak, he operated 36 clinics. Dr. Rollier espoused that the sun was an unsurpassed broad-spectrum medicine. He healed his patients using a wholesome diet combined with the power of the sun.

By 1933, there were over 165 different diseases successfully treated with heliotherapy including tuberculosis, wounds, rickets and much more. Dr. Rollier’s death in 1954 marked the end of sun therapy not because it was ineffective, but because it had been replaced by Big Pharma’s “miracle drugs.” [9]

Foods to have in your cupboard.

There are foods out there nowadays which have reached Superfood status.  I am going to compile a list of foods which I couldn’t live without and which I feel give superb nutritional support to our bodies.

This list is by no means exhaustive, but nonetheless hopefully helpful.

apple cidervinegarApple cider vinegar- This tangy addition to foods has a whole host of benefits, perhaps unheard of.  Taking this product helps maintain an alkaline PH in the body. The body tends towards a healthier state when alkaline.

It is said to help detoxify the liver. It has natural enzymes which can combat candida, which is an overgrowth of yeast in the body.

I always like to add a dash to any stews or risotto dishes.  Can also help with maintaining balanced stomach acid levels.

Barleygrass/Wheatgrass–  Weight for weight, these are very densely nutrient rich foods. They are majorly rich in chlorophyll, which is high in magnesium. They also have digestive enzymes which can  help manage indigestible and toxic elements in food, such as heavy metals.  They have anti inflammatory properties.  You only need as much as half a teaspoon daily, mixed in a  small amount of filtered water.

barleygrassMSM/Epsom salts–  These are the same thing under different titles. MSM is basically Magnesium Sulfate, which is a mixture of Magnesium and Sulfur. Both of these minerals are extremely important in our diets.  Magnesium is highly alkalizing, helps calm nerve function, helps balance out depressionMagnesium strengthens the ability of the body to counteract conditions such as Chronic Fatigue and arthritis. Sulfur is also alkalizing.  Through taking a half teaspoon daily, we meet our requirements for both minerals.

Almond butter/cashew butter–  Nut butters which are unrefined and cold pressed are a wonderful  alternative to ordinary butter. They offer the benefits of providing minerals such as selenium and magnesium as well as Vitamin E. You get the benefits of the nut’s qualities.  Almond is said to alleviate coughs, lubricate the intestines and help  with lung conditions.

shitake mushroomShitake mushrooms- These mushrooms have been given a lot of praise. They have been said to have anti cancer benefits, stimulating the immune system. I think they are a great addition to stews, they add a filling element to the foods and are very tasty.

Coldpressed Coconut oil-  Coconut oil is a phenomenal substance.  Taken internally it apparently feeds the ketones in the brain. It has been shown to help with weight loss. It enhances immune function. It is one of few safe oils with which to cook with.  It can basically be used all over the body and can assist in gum health, youthful skin and shiny hair.

I couldn’t live without these magnificent products. Taking them makes me feel I am giving my body the best of foods.

Yoga, a union of exercise and relaxation.

yogaFor anyone out there  who hasn’t tried yoga in some shape or form, I would say try it.

Yoga  has that unique blend of being an all body workout combined with a deep  level of relaxation.

Yoga consists of movements and stretches whilst the person consciously  takes slow, deep breaths.  This enables oxygen to reach practically every cell in the body.

One consistency throughout the various types of yoga is that there are standing postures, seated postures, balancing postures and inverted postures.

warrior positionAn example of a standing posture would be the ‘Warrior‘.  This is where the person stands with their feet 3  feet apart, in  line with each other.  The arms are at shoulder level and outstretchedThe person bends one leg, so it is at 90 degrees and looks towards the 3rd finger of the outstretched hand.  This pose is great for building strength in the legs, the arms and also in helping  balance. You would do alternate legs and hold each posture for about 3-4 rounds of breath.  The key element is to breathe into a pose and breathe normally for a few rounds of breath.

alternate leg pullposeA seated posture could be the ‘alternate leg pull’The person sits on the mat, both legs straight out in front, back straight, hips on floor. One leg is then gently pressed against the floor, to where it is comfortable for the person. The foot should rest against the other leg, with the remainder of the leg folded against the floor.  Raising the arms above the head, the person stretches forward, meanwhile being fully aware and practicing intake and outtake of breath. The person should stretch forward as far as is comfortable and stay in that position for 3-4 rounds of breath.  This is a great posture for developing and maintaining flexibility of legs and hips

Those are some examples, there are many more.  Yoga may appear to be a very mild form of exercise and many may believe it would not be able to help people lose weight or tone.  In fact the contrary is true.  Through carrying out the various poses.the body builds and tones muscle. Various poses work upon the glands of the body, namely the ‘Shoulder stand’ which helps the thyroid gland function optimallyThe thyroid gland is instrumental in maintaining a balanced and healthy metabolism.  Yoga elongates your shape, helping to develop that infamous yoga, streamlined shape.

If that wasn’t enough, the deep breathing calms and relaxes the mind. It frees the body from low energy, anxiety and breathing difficulties.  It allows people to be present in the moment.

Even practicing for 10/15 minutes a day is sufficient to reap the rewards.  Although to get started I would recommend attending a class to establish the basics.

always gain so much benefit from doing yoga.  When I neglect it I notice stiffness creeping in and also anxiety. In my mind it offers solutions to our everyday living, a chance to simply be and enjoy the wonder and magic of our bodies.

The harsh realities of the Cancer Industry

ChemotherapyThis is a topic which I have dipped my toes into, on and off for at least five years.

This topic is a controversial one and I have seen that upon talking about it with friends and family.

Many people are shocked that I should be interested in such a topic.

I say, unequivocally, that my intentions are absolutely pure.  I truly only want to bring another angle to what we have been led to believe.

For all those people who are suffering, who are living with Cancer, my intention is to perhaps equip you with some tools to  aid you in your journey towards healing.

It is a huge topic, with many layers.

Firstly, the three permitted ways of dealing with Cancer, now, involve harsh chemicals, chemo, burning, radiation and cutting the body open, surgery.  Having researched this area extensively, truthfully, I think these methods are outdated, brutal and barbaric.

Little do people realize that there are hundreds of alternatives out there.

I am not saying there is one cure for cancer.  There are many, but there so many factors and it is a complex topic.

Anyone who has gone through Chemo and is well now, I am delighted.  I feel that it is, in spite of the treatment and not because of it.

It may also be a surprise to think of the Cancer industry to be, an industry, concerned about profits and patents.

Well meaning people run each year and truly believe they are making a difference.  However it has been shown and highlighted that those funds very often go to pay the hefty salaries of those high up the chain in the Industry.

It is a huge shift to actually question the intentions of those operating within the industry.  We want to believe in the purity of intentions, especially when it involves something as serious as Cancer.

Everyone in this world knows someone who has been touched by Cancer.  That word alone can instill the most chilling fear into someones heart.

Cancer is another Chronic disease, like Alzheimers, like diabetes.  Of course they are different but they are all under that category.

Yet could it be said that Cancer appears to be the most feared.

The War on cancer was proclaimed in 1971 by the then, President of the US, President Nixon.  We are now 43 years after that.

The statistics show that there have been no improvements.  The success rate stands at 2.1%.

At 2.1%, does this resonate as a success?  Would we have faith in the potential of such methods of treatment at this percentage?

The industry uses a five year success rate way of recording statistics.  That means that if someone lives 5 years and one day after diagnosis, they are still included in the data as a success.

As far as  I was concerned a success is when you can live much, much longer than 5 years.

The Cancer industry falls back upon needing scientific data to support any choice of treatment.  They tend to pass scorn upon any ‘quackery’, that may have anecdotal evidence and testimonials.

Unfortunately, alternative treatments for Cancer, very often fall under the natural food or herb categories, thus can’t be patented, as a result are of no interest to any drug company for any investment.

Thankfully there are a lot of people who are doing their best to get information out there.  Information which is being endorsed by Doctors, by Oncology doctors, by people who adhere to science and facts.

I am going to do a few articles on this topic, this is only to lay the foundations.

Please read the other articles and pursue further investigation yourselves.

A mouthy subject, ways to nurture our teeth and gums.

teeth_and_meridiansI have long been interested in this topic and wanted to share what I have come across.
Firstly, a little known fact is that the health of our mouth basically dictates the health of our bodies.
It has been shown that there lies a correlation between problems with certain teeth and areas of the body. Each tooth follows a meridian path way and is connected to a part of the body.
The health of our teeth is highly reliant upon the health of our gums.
One way to nurture our gums is through gum massage, ideally with oils. Oils which specifically help would include Neem oil, Sesame seed oil, coconut oil, lavender oil or tea tree oil.
The lavender and tee tree would need to be mixed with a carrier oil, for example Sesame seed oil. You could use 5-10 drops of the Lavender/tea tree in a small bottle of Sesame seed oil.
In Ayurvedic medicine, which originates in India, they partake in the practice of oil swishing. This involves the swishing of oil in the mouth for up to four minutes. This is said to not only clean the mouth but also draw out toxins from the rest of the body. They tend to use Sesame Seed oil, it is called ‘the mother’ of all oils due to its mass of attributes.
Another less well known method of cleaning teeth is with an item called the Blotting brush. Very few people I talk to have heard of this. It isn’t advertised. I came across it through chance on another natural products website.
The idea of a blotting brush is that it uses tapping as opposed to a swirling action in the mouth. It is said to draw plague to it, in much the same manner as paint being drawn up into the bristles of a paint brush. No toothpaste is used. It is very affordable and lasts a long time.
Alternatively a light activated ionic tooth brush could be utilised. It has a titanium rod which is a semi conductor. When exposed to natural light, the rod releases negative ions which pull the positive ions from the plague in your mouth, disintegrating the plague. This is slightly more expensive but very effective and again no toothpaste is needed.
Conventional toothpaste is filled full of Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, artificial sweeteners and Fluoride. Sodium Lauryl sulphate is known as a carcinogen, causing hormonal imbalances. Fluoride was once widely used as an insecticide. Do these sound healthy substances to be swirling in our mouths twice a day?
This article was written with the view to shed light on alternatives. You can find natural toothpastes, slightly more expensive than conventional ones, but infinitely safer. Possibly people might be inspired to try the blotting brush or oil swishing?
Healthy mouths founder healthy bodies. Let’s all try to make healthier, informed choices.
